Photographs of Winter Garden Landmarks as Seen Today

Tommy Zeigler and his wife, Eunice, were members of this church.  Eunice played the piano. Tommy sang in the choir. Winter Garden borders on Lake Apopka which once was a major tourist attraction for well heeled northerners seeking Florida sunshine.

Just down the street from the churdh is the Edgewater Hotel. After it's heyday it had become a brothel by the seventies. Zeigler was the driving force behind getting it closed down. Did that make the white racist want revenge?

The old elevator in the Edgewater Hotel still operates. The hotel has now been restored as a bed and breakfast. After Zeigler had the hotel closed, he made more enemies by trying to stop the loan sharks who were exploiting the black migrant workers who picked oranges in the area.

The KFC where Edwards ran and was seen by the Nolans after Zeigler called the police. The blood on Zeigler's thru and thru wound was dry when police arrived - before Williams arrived at the KFC.  Williams story that he ran immediately to the KFC after Zeigler gave him the gun and before Zeigler was shot cannot be true. He must have lied.
